Video Formats
- MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, M4V — straight from most deposition camera and capture setups.
DepoFlow encodes a normalized, browser-playable copy during the sync, so you do not need to convert anything first — bring the original.
Audio-Only Formats
- MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, AAC, OGG — audio-only recordings sync just as well as video.
Transcript Formats
- PDF — a standard condensed or full-size transcript PDF.
- Plain text (.txt / .ascii) — the ASCII files court reporters commonly deliver.
- Word (.docx) — transcripts delivered as Word documents.
- .ptx — RealLegal / E-Transcript files.
- .mdb and .cms — legacy court-reporter database formats.
Instant Validation
When you attach a transcript in the New Sync wizard, DepoFlow probes it on the spot and shows whether the pages and lines parsed. If a file fails, try a different format from your reporter — the .txt ASCII is usually the most reliable fallback.
Which Source Files Work Best
- Use the full-size transcript, not a condensed multiple-pages-per-sheet version, when syncing from PDF.
- Prefer the original video file over a re-compressed copy — cleaner audio means better alignment.
- If your reporter offers a .ptx, use it — it carries clean page and line structure.
