DepoFlow turns a raw deposition video and a court-reporter transcript into a synchronized, deliverable package — every transcript line tied to its exact moment in the video. This walkthrough covers the whole journey once. Each step also has its own dedicated article if you want more depth.
Step 1: Install the Desktop App
The heavy lifting happens in DepoFlow Videographer, our desktop app for macOS and Windows. Grab the installer from the Download page, run it, and sign in with your DepoFlow account. Processing runs locally on your machine — your video and transcript never leave your network unless you explicitly deliver them.
Step 2: Start a New Sync Job
Click New Sync in the top bar (or Start a New Sync Job on the home page). Pick the Matter the job belongs to — or create one on the spot with + New Matter — then drag in your video and transcript files. The wizard checks each transcript the moment you attach it, so you know it parsed before you submit.
Step 3: Run the Sync
After you submit, the job appears on your home page as Queued. Open its action menu and choose Run Local Sync. DepoFlow transcribes the audio, aligns every word to your transcript, and encodes a browser-playable copy of the video. Watch the status chip move through Syncing and Encoding to Completed.
Step 4: Check Sync Quality
Every finished job gets a color-coded Sync Quality score. Green means ship-ready, amber means spot-check a few pages, red means review before delivery. Click any transcript line in the viewer to jump the video to that exact moment and verify the alignment.
Step 5: Deliver
Click Create DVT Bundle to package the video, transcript, and sync data into a single portable .zip you can hand to counsel. Need a different target? DepoFlow also exports load files for TrialDirector, Sanction, and Summation, a standalone HTML viewer that plays in any browser, and stitched MP4 clips of designated testimony.
